ABOUT LOVE is a provocative exploration of beauty, defiance, and contradiction, embodying my artistic practice that merges digital image manipulation, collage, painting, and printing techniques. This unique 1-of-1 piece, produced within a plexiglass box, invites the viewer to question the layers of meaning behind what we perceive as love.
At first glance, the composition exudes serenity—a woman with delicate features, her lips painted a deep red, surrounded by floral elements. Yet, upon closer inspection, her hush gesture is subverted: the finger pressed to her lips is, in fact, her middle finger. This subtle act of defiance disrupts the expected, turning a symbol of silence into one of rebellion. The bold red LOVE emblazoned across the piece further complicates the narrative, simultaneously declaring and challenging the very concept it represents.
The artwork exists in tension—grunge textures and visual decay seep through the surface, breaking apart the idyllic softness. It reflects love as something beautiful yet raw, serene yet chaotic, intimate yet defiant. ABOUT LOVE is not just an image but a statement, one that compels the viewer to reconsider love in all its imperfect, unspoken, and unapologetic forms.
